Thumbnails, May Sketchbook Pages #3

Thumbnails for a break dance animation. I am going to try out a Ryan Woodward type effect for the spinning. I specifically chose this move because it involves a spin at both ends of the body (arms and legs). While I was watching the video that I am using as reference, I thought the alternating spin cycles on each side would make for an interesting graphic in animation.

May Sketchbook Pages, Frog Types, Kid Design

Super quick sketches drawn using a brush pen. I had the idea to use a random word generator to practice making quick yet clear drawings. Using the generator keeps things quick because I'm not slowed down by having to think of what to draw next. I also get the chance to practice thinking on my toes. I got the idea from games like Drawful, Pictionary and Sketch from Game & Wario, that give you a random prompt and a short amount of time to visually depict it.

I'm working on making several different "enemies" based off of different types of frogs.

My design trials for the daughter from my 2D dialogue animation.

Rough Anims and Animal Characters

A few things I was working on in April. I was doing more animating and story boarding in April than sketchbook sketches.

A quick straight ahead animation of a DK style fighting move.

Another quick animation of a creepy look one of my preschool students gave me. I looked across the cafeteria table to check on him and he was trying to give me a shy, cute smile that ended up looking villainous.
