December Sketchbook Pages #2, Illustrating Preschool Song, School Mascot
There is a song we sing in the preschool class I work in called Dicky Dicky Dinosaur. It is the only song we play that doesn't have an official book or video to go along with it. So the teacher I work for asked if I would make one. Here are the roughs I've done so far.
After I lay down all the visuals with blue pencil ( the non photo blue) I'll go back in with Prismacolor pencils.
The school I work at is a junior primary center and is also fairly new. The staff has just recently decided on a mascot (dragon) and school colors(navy blue and burgundy). The secretary, who is actually a friend of mine, was telling me about having trouble finding a dragon mascot. She didn't want to steal anyone's work and she also didn't want to use a scary looking dragon. So I offered to design an original dragon mascot that was fit for a junior primary center.
Here are the trial drawings.
Here is the final design approved by the secretary and the director of the school (we don't have a principal).
