Gestures to Designs

Something I have been doing lately with a few of my animal gestures is drawing a character design next to it. Once I get a few more made I will either put all of them on one (maybe two) pages to show my process of gesture to design or make mini design packages for each one (turnarounds, expression sheets and action sheets).

Here are the ones I have created so far.

December Sketchbook Pages

I've been trying to do more animal sketches and designs so most of December's pages are animals/creatures with a few human gestures and design studies here and there.

I am currently working as an instructional assistant in a pre-k to elementary level autism class. In this program we use pec books to help students communicate if they have not learned to communicate verbally yet. Pec books have little thumbnails (called pecs) that have pictures of items, foods, and activities that the kids use to ask for things that they want. Most of the pictures used are either grabbed from clip art or a googled image that was shrunken down. These images aren't always very clear representations of the item, food or activity( or the image is too pixelated to tell what it is). So I've decided to try to design some better images to use for the pecs and also to use for flashcards.

Below is a design idea to be put on an alphabet learning flashcard. Bear and ball both start with B.

These pages have some pec designs for lunch items.
